Offizielle Kursbeschreibung: The module enables students to deepen their knowledge of Swahili in research contexts. Taking into account current research projects as well as individual student interests, the seminar opens up a unique perspective on various scientific contexts in the target language. By using different materials and texts in Swahili, students will develop individual strategies for the advance of their own research projects. The seminar will give the students the opportunity to think of and use Swahili language in a variety of activities: for example, reading of manuscripts, analysis of anthropological texts (literary, journalistic, historical, religious, academic, etc.), composing questionnaire (adapted to their own research projects), or using the language as in a field research. The course outline will suggest some topics and a path to be possibly followed in a field research aimed at the writing of a MA dissertation; nevertheless the students will have the chance to change it according to their own interests and needs. Students are expected to work exclusively in Swahili.
